Detailed Itinerary
Origin City - Luxor - Nile Cruise
Departure from Madrid on a special flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, transfer directly to the cruise ship and enjoy a picnic-style dinner served in the cabin. Overnight on board the cruise ship.
Luxor - Esna - Edfu - Nile Cruise - Full Board
After breakfast, our first stop will take us to the famous Valley of the Kings and the Theban Necropolis, where the renowned tomb of Tutankhamun is located. Afterwards, we will visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, dedicated to the only woman who ruled Egypt and who, interestingly, wore a beard to appear as a pharaoh. Next, we will see the Temple of Deir El Bahari and the impressive Colossi of Memnon. We will then continue our journey to the second most visited site in Egypt: the religious complex of Karnak and its temples, one of the places of greatest historical value in the country. This is due to the way the temples were constructed, beginning with the central sanctuary and later expanding to the outer areas. Since Luxor Temple was dedicated to the god Amun-Ra, the god of creation and the sun, many pharaohs expanded the temple with new monuments to honor the chief deity of the Egyptian pantheon. Finally, we will return to the cruise ship and sail towards Esna. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise ship.
Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan - Nile Cruise - Full Board
After breakfast, we will begin the day with a visit to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in the country. It is the second largest temple in Egypt, surpassed only by the Temple of Amun-Ra in Karnak. Later, we will continue sailing to reach the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek, the god with a crocodile head and human body, located on the banks of the Nile. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise ship.
Aswan - Nile Cruise - Full Board
We arrive in Aswan early in the morning. There is an optional excursion available to the Abu Simbel temples, a complex made up of two temples: one dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertari, his first and favorite wife. Later, we will enjoy a sailing trip on a traditional Egyptian sailboat called a felucca to end the day. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise ship.
Aswan - Cairo - Domestic flight - Breakfast and Lunch
We will have breakfast and proceed with check-out. Afterwards, we will visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis, goddess of love, and considered one of the most beautiful and best-preserved temples in the country. It is located on a small island. After this unmissable visit, we will be transferred to Aswan airport to take a flight to Cairo, followed by a transfer to the hotel. Lunch may be served on the cruise ship or as a picnic, depending on the scheduled flight time.
Cairo - Giza Pyramids - Bed and Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, the first scheduled visit is the Pyramids complex of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure, the main tourist attraction of the country and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After visiting the pyramids, we will head to the famous Sphinx, created by Pharaoh Khafre. It is a sculpture with the body of a lion and a human head, whose purpose was to guard the pyramids’ funerary complex, as well as to serve as a symbol of royalty. Once the visit to the Giza necropolis is completed, the tour ends and we return to the hotel. Optional excursion available to the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Cairo - Free day - Bed and Breakfast
After breakfast, free day in Cairo or option to book the optional full-day city tour: Saqqara, the Citadel, the Coptic Quarter, and Khan El Khalili Bazaar, including lunch.
